What never leaves your device
Your recipes, photos, tags and cupboards stay on your device and in your own iCloud. We have no access to them.
Most imports are read by your device itself: neither the page's address, nor its content, nor the recipe is sent to us.
Cook mode's voice recognition runs on the device. Nothing is transmitted and nothing is recorded.
What reaches us, and when
When your device cannot read a page, and only then, that page's text is sent to us to be read. It is processed and then deleted; we keep no copy.
Your credit balance is attached to a random fingerprint created on your device. It is linked to no name, no email address and no Apple ID.
There is no account, no sign-up, no advertising, no tracker and no third-party SDK of any kind. The only measurements we take are described below, and they can be switched off.
Usage statistics
The app records which screens are reached and where people give up: “an import started”, “the cook-along ran to the end”. These land on our server and go no further: they are shared with nobody, feed no advertising, and are never joined with anything else.
They never contain content: no page address, no recipe title, no ingredient, no photograph. They are attached to a random identifier belonging to this installation, separate from the fingerprint your balance hangs on.
You can turn this off in Settings, under “Share usage statistics”. Anything not yet sent is erased when you do.
Purchases
Purchases go through Apple. We never see your payment method. Apple hands us a signed proof of purchase, used only to credit the balance above.
Shared recipes
If you publish a recipe to a share link, that page becomes public: that is the point. You can take it down from the app at any time, and we will remove it on request.
Contact
For a question or a deletion request, write to us from the support page.
That form goes through Crisp, who host our inbox. It loads only if you click into the form, and only on that page: neither the marketing pages, nor this one, nor a shared recipe load it. Crisp then receives what you write, and the name and address you give if you give them. The app itself contains no third-party SDK.
